AGRICE
|
 |
Since 1994 AGRICE has pursued a double-pronged programme
pertaining to energy and chemicals.
From the outset AGRICE has focused on energy uses, targeting the use of renewable
resources derived from crops for transport and heating. Biofuels
liquid, and solid
have been the theme of many research projects since 1994.
The focus on chemical applications was included in AGRICE's brief from the
beginning, but has been longer in taking shape. Economically and technically
competitive processes must be developed in order to substitute biomolecules
and biomaterials for
petrochemical products. Biofuel coproducts can provide feedstocks.
