European Networks

AGRICE has been and continues to be active in a number of European networks pertaining to new uses and added value for agricultural resources. These networks reflect the main areas of study developed by AGRICE: NTBnet for liquid biofuels, AFBnet and BTG for solid biofuels, IENICA and ERRMA for chemicals.

ALTENER - NTB Net : Non Technical Barriers Network
This network grouping 11 countries is funded by DG XVII. It aims to pool information pertaining to liquid biofuels and make it available on the Internet
Coordinator : Etienne POITRAT - ADEME

ALTENER - AFB Net : Agricultural Forestry Biomass Network
This network grouping 14 countries is funded by DG XVII. It aims to encourage communication between member countries and foster multi-partner research in solid biofuels.

ERRMA : ERRMA is a European entity made up of national agencies: AGRICE (France), FNR (Germany), AIACE (Italy), ACTIN (United Kingdom), BELBIOM (Belgium) and ATO-DLO (Netherlands). ERRMA coordinates agricultural non-food research programmes and acts as a contact interface for the European Community on this topic.

IENICA : Interactive European Network for Industrial Crops and their Applications (http//www.col.gov.uk/ienica)

INFORRM : Five countries take part in this project, funded under the DG XIII FAIR programme. Each member country compiles a list of some 20 public and private-sector bodies involved in finding new uses for agricultural resources, other than energy uses, and draws up a descriptive information entry sheet. A European directory and map will subsequently be posted on the Web.
