  Export markets are opening up

The French environment industry now stands in fourth place worldwide. It leads the field as far as running delegated management services for local communities is concerned, and ranks well in the water and waste technologies market and in specific markets such as metrology. In addition, increasingly active small and medium-sized enterprises are strengthening their export businesses. Up to 50% of French industry exports go to the European Union, a market whose proportional share should decrease within the coming 10 years. French industry is currently focusing on strengthening its market share elsewhere in the world and is getting ready to invest in high growth niches at world level. Among these are delegated management services for large companies that outsource their water and waste management, engineering projects, clean and efficient or "preventive" technologies, and technical and institutional assistance.
ADEME is endeavouring to facilitate public-private partnerships, notably through the ADEME International Club, so as to promote French
know-how abroad.
